Primary Responsibilities :
• Market and develop Energy Minerals (EM) services in conjunction with Regional, and Sector management. This includes the capability to market and sell the Engineering and Operations Services (EOS) to the Indonesian Coal Market.
• Provide technical support EM business to insure the right equipment, people and training are in place for the services SGS Indonesia provides the coal industry.
• Insure that SGS Indonesia is providing services that meet international and corporate standards and processes.
• Responsible for management EM profit centers in conjunction with Minerals Manager and relevant Branch Managers.
Reporting to :
Minerals Services Manager – SGS Indonesia
Specific responsibilities :
• Develop long-term relationships with the key technical and commercial staff of relevant coal and related industries.
• Growth of EM business against defined objectives and targets which are integrated into the corporate global EM business development plan.
• Preparation and issue of tenders for EM in conjunction with Minerals Manager and relevant Branch Managers.
• Development and maintenance of EM Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001:2000 guidelines and verify the work is performed to the applicable standard.
• Be able to support the international technical team supply projects to clients in Indonesia
• Monitor SGS Indonesia laboratory performance to insure it meets the standards required by SGS’ customers and SGS standards of operation.
• Develop and maintain business plan for EM in conjunction with Minerals Manager and EM Sector management
• Establish and maintain client database and market information
• Regular fact to face contact with existing and potential EM clients
• In conjunction with Sector and SGS Indonesia QA program, maintain EM inspection procedures and guidelines
• Achievement of EM Budget
• Positive attitude towards safety, willingly co-operating in the objectives of making the workplace a healthy and safe workplace. Required to observe and ensure safe working practices are followed.
Profile :
• Engineering degree in Mining Engineering, Coal Processing Engineering, Metallurgy, Minerals Process or Geology in order of preferrence
• Minimum 10 years in Coal or related businesses (Steel Industry, Coal Fired Power Industry; Coal Mining; or equivalent)
• Experience dealing with related EM engineering consultants and contractors
Skills :
• Knowledge International coal standards and how to apply them
• Sound financial management background
• Knowledge of the Indonesian coal industry
• Customer service orientation
• Good Communication skills
• Good Team Work and Cooperation
• Strong leadership skills to build and develop a team of professional staff, providing a positive attitude and coaching role when required.
• Ability to work with an international team
• English Language - written and verbal
• Ability to train staff at all levels.
• Commercial understanding and implications
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of relevant Standards related to inspection and analysis activities
