Job Qualification :
(Permanent position – Jakarta based)
Purpose :
- Reporting to the Head of External Affairs, the role is responsible for managing community affairs strategy and plans, ensuring compliance with requirements of relevant GLDs (Corporate Standard). The role is also responsible for managing land access and supporting documentations as well as database system.
Core accountabilities :
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with BHP Billiton Charter and relevant GLD (Group Level Documentation / Corporate Standards).
- Develop IMC’s community affairs strategy and management plan.
- Provide management and strategic guidance with respect to community affairs and development programs.
- Manage Community Affairs team at all sites.
- Liaise with site management team with respect to interactions and logistical support required from sites.
- Ensure community affairs are conducted in full compliance with GLDs.
- Represent IMC at external functions /committees as required.
- Liaise with other function in IMC Project, MetCoal CSG in Brisbane and Group HSEC in Melbourne.
- Accountable for reporting for all community affairs activities.
- Develop strategy and management plan for conveying IMC’s community affairs philosophy and progresses.
- Provide input into and participate in industry associations as required.
- The incumbent will have an operating budget to manage his team’s annual operating and activities costs.
- Ensure that the principles of Continuous Improvement are part of the running the function
- Participate in meetings are required.
Qualifications / skills / abilities :
- Minimal degree in Technical or Social Science.
- 10 plus years of private sector experience including senior experience in community relations and development field.
- Well-developed issues management skills.
- Knowledge of Indonesian regulatory requirement with respect of CSR (Community Social Responsibility)..
- Strong understanding of the resources lifecycle and the appropriate community relations strategies required.
- Has managed major issues arising from conducting business in the resources sector.
- Demonstrated capacity to inspire external stakeholders for the purpose of the organisations goals.
- Experience in managing land access matters including land compensations.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
