PURPOSE OF THE POSITION



The Advisor for Adaptation to Climate Change is responsible for the implementation of the Climate Chance Information Service activities and assists project initiatives regarding. The advisor is the contact person to BMKG counterpart. She/he supports the initiatives and processes in the field of Historical Data recovery. She/he manages administrative and financial tasks and reports to the team leader.




Responsibilities, Task
:




  • Managing the an climate change information service

  • Technical expertise in the field of adaptation, information services and historical data recovery

  • Assisting project initiatives by provide professional advisory services in all fields of the project

  • Coordinate and cooperate with BMKG and other partner organisations

  • Supervise the sub-project Climate Information Services.

  • Coordinate with Climatology Department, Climate Change and Air Quality Department (PIKU) and with the Database Center.

  • Communication between BMKG climate experts and other stakeholders (Line ministries and other institutions).

  • Organize multi-disciplinary round table in order to design and operationalize the Climate Information Services

  • Gather feedback from Climate Information Services users.

  • Follow the Historical Data Recovery implemented and facilitate linkage between both processes

  • Incorporate the requirements of the National Adaptation Action Plan for Climate Change Adaptation (RAN-API) to the scope of work

  • Travel upon request to BMKG’s regional center

  • Coordinate on request with other ongoing international projects with BMKG

  • Contribute to project’s monitoring and evaluation process by reporting weekly and monthly through team meeting and technical committee meeting.

  • Liaison to bridge the communication and coordination, support general project planning.

  • Climate Information Services

  • Communicate and channel stakeholder interests and aspirations and exchange ideas and information for the benefit of the program

  • Maintain excellent personal networks and working relation to the relevant Climate Change sector stakeholders in the government, civil society, GIZ as well as the donor community in accordance with the requirements of the project.

  • Other Administrative task

  • Depending on project needs and development of the envisioned activities further responsibilities can be delegated




Required Entry Qualifications and Competencies




  • Master’s Degree in a course related to the project goals

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in a similar position

  • Excellent command of MS-Office

  • Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems

  • Language skills (Native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia and excellent command of English in written/spoken, basic German is an advantage)

  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication and negotiation skills
